Steel giant, Tata Steel launched the largest center for Steel plates cutting in UK on 14 Jan, 2014.
Tata Steel, a group which is also well known for its innovation in Steel industry has launched a 3.1 million pound Steel plate cutting center in UK at Steelpark. This will increase its plate processing capacity by 50 per cent in the region.
The newly launched center offers machining & cutting of Steel plates in various defined sizes, multitude shapes sustaining quality specifications. The facility shall prove to be beneficial for the customers of construction sectors, in engineering applications.
Paul Steele, Managing Director of Tata Steel Distribution UK & Ireland, said the facility is commission to support their customer base by fulfilling tailored needs of customers concerned to plate cutting & machining. This will increase Steelpark’s profiling capacity to 47 MnT pa.
Moreover, it has brought together the existing technology from other Tata Steel sites at one location in Steelpark. It has invested in two new high definition plasma profiling machines, which will reduce lead times and increase responsiveness, as per the company sources.
The new facility will have various useful machines to operationalize Steel plate cutting & machining. It includes two laser profiling machines, two gas profiling machines, five machining centers, three flattening presses and five high definition plasma profiling machines.
