One of India’s leading minerals & metals company VISA Steel has joined a selected group of primary steel producers, approved by PGCIL to supply mild steel & high tensile semi finish metal casting.
VISA Steel, headquartered based out of Kolkata and operates state-of-the-art 0.5 MnT pa integrated steel plant in Kalinganagar, is approved by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) to supply mild steel & high tensile Blooms. In the proposal, VISA Steel will supply Blooms that will be rolled into Structurals by PGCIL approved re-rollers. This will be further used in transmission line towers manufacturing for power distribution.
PGCIL Assessment Committee followed stringent inspection & assessment after the recommendation of its approved re-rollers. The committee verified & audited the essential documents & technical parameters and after complete satisfaction, gave the approval.
Earlier, Visa Steel had supplied MS & HT Billet/Bloom in good quantities to various re-rollers & tower manufacturers across India. Based on outstanding quality performance of its Billet/Bloom, PGCIL has approved VISA Steel for MS & HT Blooms supply.
VISA Steel officials stated in media, “This will enable the PGCIL approved re-rollers to source these special grade Blooms for making Structurals, which are required for fabrication of towers for PGCIL projects.”
He further added, the company had earlier supplied MS & HT Billet/Bloom to various re-rollers across the country. This approval would now help the company to strengthen its position in the market. “The re-rollers will also have wider choice for sourcing specialized Blooms required by them.”
PGCIL approval has sent cheers across the re-rollers since there are very few high quality primary steel producers of MS & HT Billet/Bloom. With this approval, Visa Steel has joined the top primary and integrated steel producers in the country.
